The other day there was a news that Google is developing a new unique product. This product is an operating system that is not based on the Linux nucleus, as say Android, but on the nuclei (L) ITTLE (K) ERNEL and Magenta. It is also known that the new OS will be universal. That is, it can be used on all types of computer technology. From mobile gadgets to desktop PCs.

Fuchsia

The name of this OS will be fuchsia (fuchsia). This is the name of the color, which is formed by the fusion of pink and purple. Why Google has chosen this name for a new product not reported. But, let's think logically. Google traditionally names its operating systems in honor of various colors. And if two colors are ridiculous in fuchsia, then it is logical to assume that it will combine a solution for both mobile and stationary devices.

Official confirmation

So far, Google does not confirm the development of a new operating system. At least officially. But, there were a statement on the network, in which you can see how much in the "Corporation of Good" was spent on the development of this product.

There is also confirmation that one of the nuclei of the OS is the advanced Littlekernel core, and the others are Magenta. By the way, Littlekernel is an analogue of Freertos and Threadx. Systems developed for the Internet of things. But, Fuchsia supports the 64-bit PC architecture. Which for the "Internet of things" is not needed. Therefore, Fuchsia was developed for wider tasks.

So what is Fuchsia?

Fuchsia OS

Due to the lack of data, to say exactly what Fuchsia is impossible. But, already now we can say that the operating system will most likely be able to work on smartphones, tablets and home computers. Most likely, the scalable universal fuchsia will soon replace other OS from Google. Such as Android and Chrome OS. But, for admirers of these operating systems, you should not worry ahead of time. The transition to a new OS is not one day, but months and years.

Important: to say with confidence that Fuchsia will not replace Android. Google will not “bury” their popular product, into which millions of dollars poured. Perhaps this new operating system is developed for other purposes. By the way, there is a rumor that this is just an experimental project for solving Google's internal corporate problems.

Fuchsia will help to give the operating system not only smartphones and computers, but also another equipment. For example, routers, smart speakers, refrigerators, TVs, etc. And for those who are not tolerant of seeing a new product as soon as possible, one of the developers mentioned in his blog that it was not for a long time to share a distribution for Raspberry Pi 3. Waiting for a long time.

A few rumors

OS Fuchsia will be a universal operating system. The nucleus (L) Ittle (K) Ernel will be responsible for the "Internet of things". That is, teapots, refrigerators, multicooles and other items equipped with wireless communication. And for more powerful devices, the Magenta nucleus will be responsible. Thanks to this solution, Fuchsia can be expanded on almost any modern electronic devices.

The main programming language involved in writing the code of this system is developed in Google Dart. And the language of the graphic interface is Flutter. In this operating system, support for cross -platform API (Opengl, Vulkan API) will be implemented. As well as JSON, SSL, Google Go, LLVM and Rust.

Where will Android and Chrome OS go?

Fuchsia and android

Google has long been making plans for the merger of Android and Chrome OS. But, since this has not yet happened, it can be assumed that there are several critical problems that developers at the moment cannot solve. And in order to do this, it is easier to create a new operating system. Which will be fuchsia.

If we compare what they promised to implement in Google in Android 7.0 Nougat, and implemented. Then the list of desired wakes up the lister list longer. Take at least a multi -window mode. But, he is still not. Moreover, in Mountain-Vew they have long wanted to get rid of Java. And when to do this, if not with a new operating system?
